Malcolm Nathaniel "Make" Culbreth was the fourth son of Thomas Culbreth and Ann Eliza Peabody. He lived in the Moss Neck community, where he operated a cotton gin. Make also served as Post Master at the Moss Neck depot. Malcolm married Katie Duncan on September 28, 1892.  

He was a leader in the Grange and local Republican Party.
