Adrian Culbreth was the daughter of William Kemp Culbreth and Margaret Morris Pearsall. She married Nicholas Stubbs on April 12, 1903. The family experienced tragedy in December 1905 when their infant son Ralph Pearsall Stubbs died.

As a young woman, Adrian cooked for Hunter's Lodge in Moss Neck, NC. N.C. Stubbs and Adrian later owned the popular destination originally built by Col. F.A. Bond (CSA) which attracted hunters from across the country. Hunter's Lodge even had its own railcar reserved for travelers coming to spend the season there.

Children of Nicholas Stubbs and Adrian Culbreth:

1. Nicholas Carl Stubbs (May 16, 1914 - Dec 5, 1986) married Lois Jeannette Tyner in 1935.

2. Margaret Elizabeth Stubbs (Jun 1, 1918 - Feb 4, 2001) married James Proctor on Aug 2, 1941.
